How I became your Cancer Coach?

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the end of 2022.

It is devastating to hear the words “you have cancer!”

My mind instantly went to fear of death, fear of chemotherapy, fear of losing my hair and so much more.

I’m not afraid of these things anymore and I want to help you not to be frightened too.

Fortunately, I had 15 years of experience teaching people my trusted Calmer Self Method which helped me get through everything that cancer brings with it - the tests and scans (scanxiety!), chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, two surgeries and all the side effects that come with it, including the emotional turmoil.

While I understand everyone’s cancer and treatment plan is different, I really want to help people with what I’ve learnt and especially ease their fear.

I believe the holistic approach and asking for help and receiving it are crucial to your wellbeing and recovery.

While the medical profession deals with the physical side of things, what I offer you will meet your emotional needs, heals and soothes your mind, allowing you to step out of the chaos and into a place of calm, gaining back your control when you need it the most.

Here’s Why You Need This & Exactly How It Will Help You.

First of all I will listen to you - you will be heard and understood!

I will intuitively know how to adapt each session so you get exactly what you need at the right time. You will not be rushed and you choose when you have each of your sessions to fit in with your treatment plan (but they work best when they are roughly two weeks apart.)

You will get the time and breathing space to practice the techniques you learn and build confidence in your ability to adapt to all that is happening to you and embrace new ways of feeling, behaving and reacting.

Areas We Cover

We start by recognising what stress is like for you so, when it comes up, you can nip it in the bud and reduce it. I also teach you how to find your calm centre and your happy place.

This is really helpful when going for tests and scans, having treatment and anything that triggers you at any time, day or night.

Recognise and Release

Letting Go of Emotions that No Longer Serve You

You will experience a whole range of emotions and feelings that will come up for you. It will be so beneficial for you to be able to let go of some of these - especially feelings of guilt around Self Care.

Anything that comes up can be discussed and together we will decide what we want to release so we can focus on what is truly important.

When those painful emotions and memories hit you (and they will!), it may be tempting to just ignore them and push through, but, there is a more healthy way to deal with them.

I work with you so that you will be able to sit in peace and calm with emotions like fear, anger, grief and so many more.

Getting Comfortable with Difficult Emotions

Gentle Questioning

This will give you insight, focus and clarity, and help you to get to the bottom of anything that brings up old trauma that you thought you may have got rid of.

During your diagnosis and treatment you may well be reminded of past situations and hurt that will revisit you and this process of gentle questioning will help soothe your soul and light up your path to your way forward.

Getting a Good Night’s Sleep

I will teach you lots of ways to help you get to sleep and get back to sleep when you wake up during the night.

There will be so many reasons why you need this - worry about tests, treatment and its side effects, upcoming surgery and all the changes to your body that these might bring.

I will share so much with you about good sleep hygiene, routines, practices, tips and techniques to ensure you will get the rest you need.

Creating a Positive Morning Routine

It is crucial to begin your day with positivity. It will give you courage and hope and help you face whatever you need to, taking the feelings of overwhelm out of what this brings up for you.

We work together to create your very own personalised morning routine to give you the strength and confidence you need everyday.
